KGC Targets U.S. Supplement Makers With Advanced Ginseng Ingredient Technology

A South Korean ginseng producer is looking to move beyond selling its own health supplements and become a supplier to companies that manufacture them, bringing specialized ingredient technology to one of the largest gatherings of the U.S. nutrition industry.

Korea Ginseng Corporation (KGC), the company behind South Korea’s leading ginseng brand Jeong Kwan Jang, will showcase technology that concentrates specific compounds found in red ginseng at SupplySide Global 2026 in Las Vegas. The company is seeking to turn decades of research into a business supplying ingredients to supplement, food and beverage manufacturers worldwide.

The expansion could give American supplement companies another source of standardized botanical ingredients for their own products. Rather than competing solely through finished supplements, KGC wants to enter the supply chain behind those products, using its extraction technology, clinical research and internationally recognized testing capabilities to attract manufacturers.

The strategy centers on ginsenosides, naturally occurring compounds found in ginseng that are studied for their potential health effects. Different varieties, including Rg1 and Rg3, have distinct biological properties, allowing manufacturers to explore formulations built around particular compounds rather than conventional ginseng extracts alone.

KGC plans to introduce extraction and standardization technologies designed to increase the concentration of selected ginsenosides. The company says the process will allow it to provide ingredients tailored to the formulation requirements of individual manufacturers.

Scientific research is another part of its sales pitch. KGC will present clinical findings and laboratory data, including research examining the potential benefits of red ginseng for menopausal health. Its exhibition booth will prominently display charts and other scientific materials intended to help prospective buyers evaluate the research supporting its ingredients.

The move builds on KGC’s entry into the global ingredient business last October, when it introduced G1899, a premium standardized ingredient brand, at SupplySide Global 2025. The name refers to 1899, the year associated with the origins of Jeong Kwan Jang.

The company now wants to convert that initial introduction into commercial relationships with international supplement manufacturers and strategic partners. Its established consumer business provides a foundation. According to market research firm Euromonitor International, Jeong Kwan Jang has ranked first in the global retail market for ginseng, red ginseng and herbal health supplements for 12 consecutive years.

KGC is also emphasizing its laboratory credentials as it seeks to establish credibility among overseas ingredient buyers.

The company first received accreditation under the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme, known as KOLAS, in 2010 and has maintained that status through five consecutive assessments, including its latest review in September. It obtained additional accreditation for ginsenoside analysis in 2016.

Testing reports issued by accredited laboratories are recognized internationally through arrangements administered by the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation. That recognition can reduce the need for duplicate testing across countries, potentially making it easier for manufacturers to verify ingredient quality when sourcing from overseas suppliers.

KGC will present its technology at SupplySide Global, which runs from October 26 through 30 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. Organized by Informa Markets, the event is expected to draw approximately 1,600 exhibitors and more than 20,000 industry professionals from over 74 countries.

The exhibition floor will operate for three days instead of the previous two to accommodate growing demand. KGC will participate in Innovation Day on October 27 before opening its booth from October 28 through 30.

The company said last year’s event focused on introducing G1899 to the global market, while this year’s participation is intended to expand commercial opportunities through its research capabilities and ingredient technology.

The exhibition marks another step in KGC’s effort to build a business beyond its established consumer brand. Its next challenge is turning scientific expertise and international recognition into supply agreements with manufacturers that can bring Korean ginseng ingredients into a broader range of health products.
