Samsung Electronics, South Korea’s largest technology company, has joined Verizon’s 6G Innovation Forum, positioning itself alongside leading global technology companies to shape the future of sixth-generation wireless networks.

The forum, led by U.S. carrier Verizon, brings together major players in the telecom and IT sectors, including Meta, Ericsson, Nokia, and Qualcomm.

The group’s efforts will focus on developing the 6G ecosystem through spectrum exploration, bandwidth testing, cooperation with international standards organizations, and the creation of research labs for prototypes and field trials.

Samsung said it will take a leading role by applying artificial intelligence to wireless communication technologies, aiming to deliver new user experiences and accelerate 6G-related innovation.

“By working closely with global tech leaders, we will validate AI-powered network technologies and accelerate the arrival of the 6G era, offering innovative user experiences in future connectivity,” said Jung Jin-kook, executive vice president and head of the Next-Generation Communication Research Center at Samsung Research.
