In an interview released ahead of his May 2027 concerts, Mars publicly invited Blackpink’s Rosé to join him for another performance of their global hit “APT.” — a potential reunion that could further showcase the commercial power of U.S.-Korean pop partnerships.
Mars made the appeal in a recent interview with MBC’s YouTube channel “14F Ilsae,” discussing his music and upcoming tour. His return comes as U.S. entertainment companies and investors continue to look beyond domestic audiences for growth, with K-pop providing a powerful distribution and fan-engagement engine in Asia and increasingly in the U.S. market.
“I got to get Rosie up there,” Mars said, addressing Rosé directly. He asked her to tell him what he needed to do to perform “APT.” with her again in South Korea.
Mars called a reunion performance a “full circle moment,” reflecting the song’s unusual trajectory from a collaboration between a U.S. pop star and a Korean artist into a global commercial success.
The singer then added a joke about the economics of bringing Rosé back onstage, saying, “Only if I can afford her.” He followed by quipping that she had become expensive and no longer answered his calls.
The comments appeared to be friendly banter between the two artists. Released in October 2024, “APT.” became a major international hit, demonstrating the ability of K-pop artists and Western pop stars to combine their audiences and amplify a release across markets.
The potential reunion also comes as live music has become an increasingly important component of the economics of global pop. Mars is scheduled to perform four shows at Goyang Stadium in South Korea on May 21, May 22, May 25 and May 26, 2027, as part of his “Bruno Mars – The Romantic Tour.” The shows will mark his first solo concerts in South Korea since 2023.
Mars has not confirmed that Rosé will appear. But by making the invitation publicly, he has turned a possible encore of “APT.” into one of the most closely watched moments of his upcoming Korean tour.
