Nvidia Corp. Chief Executive Jensen Huang made a surprise appearance on a South Korean television talk show this week, marking an unusual media move for the leader of one of the world’s most influential artificial intelligence companies.
The episode, filmed for tvN’s popular program “You Quiz on the Block,” was previewed on social media, showing Huang in a black leather jacket engaging casually with hosts in the studio.
It is the first known appearance by Huang on a Korean variety program, and one of the rare cases of a Silicon Valley executive participating in an entertainment talk show globally, according to industry observers.
During the recording, Huang discussed his interest in K-pop, telling host Yoo Jae-suk that he frequently listens to Korean music while working. He specifically mentioned singer Hwasa, expressing admiration for her work and citing her songs “So Cute” and “Good Goodbye.”
The comment prompted surprise from Yoo, who noted Huang’s familiarity even with the artist’s latest releases.
The upcoming episode also teases broader topics, including personal anecdotes and light-hearted discussions about Huang’s public image and fortune-related stories.
The broadcast is scheduled to air later this week in South Korea.
Huang’s appearance comes as Nvidia, the dominant supplier of AI chips, sits at the center of the global artificial intelligence boom. The company’s leadership has increasingly become high-profile figures in tech and finance, though appearances in entertainment formats remain uncommon.
The episode has drawn strong anticipation from viewers in South Korea, where social media users reacted with comments praising Huang’s demeanor and expressing curiosity about his engagement with K-pop culture.
