Samsung, the South Korean tech giant, on Tuesday unveiled its latest foldable phones and smartwatches at the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event in New York, calling the new lineup the pinnacle of mobile innovation.

The company introduced the ultra-thin Galaxy Z Fold7, the pocket-sized Galaxy Z Flip7, and the Galaxy Watch8 series, combining hardware innovation with advanced AI technology. All three products feature the latest version of Galaxy AI, powered by Google’s Gemini.

Samsung also strengthened security with the launch of One UI 8, which blocks unauthorized app access to data and protects AI training information with a new KEEP encryption system. The devices also include quantum-resistant cryptography for added protection on public Wi-Fi networks.

The Galaxy Z Flip7 now features a larger 4.1-inch cover screen that allows users to check messages, take calls, play music, and take selfies without opening the phone.

It integrates Samsung’s generative AI to answer natural language queries and adds contextual information with a feature called Gemini Live.

The camera supports flexible angles, real-time filters, and a new one-finger zoom control. One UI 8 processes personalized AI tasks on the device itself to keep data secure, while the 4,300mAh battery offers longer use. Samsung DeX is also supported, enabling PC-like productivity when connected to a monitor and keyboard.

The Galaxy Z Fold7 is the thinnest and lightest foldable Samsung has ever made, measuring 0.35 inches thick and weighing about 7.6 ounces when closed.

It opens to an 8-inch display, 11 percent larger than the previous model. The new AI Results View lets users pin AI-generated answers to the side or bottom of the screen while multitasking.

Powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip, the Fold7 delivers faster AI performance, improved graphics, and better durability with an upgraded hinge, stronger ultra-thin glass, and scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass.

The 200MP camera captures bright, detailed images even in low light, with AI tools to erase unwanted people or sounds from photos and videos.

Samsung also debuted its slimmest smartwatches to date, introducing the Galaxy Watch8, Watch8 Classic, and rugged Watch Ultra.

The watches are 11 percent thinner than their predecessors but deliver more accurate health tracking, including sleep, heart, fitness, diet, and antioxidant monitoring.

Stress and sleep coaching are improved, and for the first time, Samsung integrated Google’s Wear OS 6 and Gemini AI.

Samsung opened global pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Flip7, Fold7, and Flip7 FE on July 9, ahead of the worldwide launch of the Galaxy Z Flip7, Fold7, and Watch8 series on July 25. Pre-orders close on July 24.
