South Korean e-commerce giant Coupang has officially rebranded its AI cloud computing service as “Coupang Intelligent Cloud” (CIC), introducing a new logo on July 2.

The CIC service represents an evolution of Coupang’s AI infrastructure technology, expanding the company’s previously internal AI computing resources to external businesses through GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) offerings.

All CIC data centers are located in Seoul and the greater metropolitan area. These facilities feature large-capacity power systems, state-of-the-art cooling technology, redundant power architecture, multi-network support, and comprehensive physical security measures to ensure stable operations even during emergencies. The proximity to end-users also minimizes service latency.

The service incorporates high-performance GPUs to efficiently handle complex AI computing tasks. CIC provides the latest GPU models through turnkey solutions or custom clustering configurations tailored to clients’ specific workloads.

Despite the rapid refresh cycles for GPU hardware, Coupang maintains a commitment to operating cutting-edge equipment.

Over several years, Coupang has extensively utilized its AI computing infrastructure to enhance its services and operations.

This technology has not only improved customer experiences but also significantly boosted sales for over 230,000 small and medium-sized merchants on its platform nationwide.

A Coupang Intelligent Cloud spokesperson stated, “We will deliver premium AI cloud computing services powered by the latest GPU servers and our stable, large-scale data center infrastructure.”

Last month, Coupang participated in the Ministry of Science and ICT’s initiative to strengthen AI computing resources.

The company plans to actively collaborate with various government programs aimed at building Korea’s AI ecosystem moving forward.
