South Korean molecular diagnostics company Seegene has launched a next-generation statistical service platform called STAgora™, designed to revolutionize how infectious diseases are monitored and managed. The company plans to unveil the platform at the 2025 Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (ADLM) annual meeting in Chicago later this month.

STAgora™ provides real-time visualization of infectious disease outbreaks based on actual diagnostic test results, offering global data at the city, national, and continental levels. Medical professionals can receive automatically generated reports containing test results and statistical analyses, along with customizable dashboards and real-time alert functions.

According to Seegene, STAgora allows users to track not only individual infection cases but also monitor outbreaks in nearby regions or across borders. This functionality enables public health authorities to make timely, data-driven decisions and develop effective strategies to prevent large-scale transmission.

The platform includes over 40 statistical tools, such as individual infection tracking, symptom-based co-infection analysis, and infection rate monitoring. These tools help detect early signs of abnormal pathogen activity and forecast seasonal trends.

“STAgora goes beyond basic statistics — it is a proactive tool that enables early outbreak detection and supports clinical decision-making,” Seegene stated.

Baek Young-seok, Executive Director of Strategic Planning at Seegene, said, “What sets STAgora apart from other platforms is its ability to analyze real-time diagnostic data from around the world. While conventional systems rely on delayed or historical data, STAgora processes PCR test results in real time, and applies AI-based algorithms to predict future outbreaks.”

The platform is also integrated with Seegene’s proprietary syndromic quantitative PCR technology, which enables detection of both single-pathogen infections and co-infections caused by multiple pathogens — providing enhanced support for clinical assessment and treatment planning.

Shin Dae-ho, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, commented, “The COVID-19 pandemic underscored the importance of accurate data interpretation and informed policy-making. As the world faces growing threats such as antimicrobial resistance, viral mutations, and complex co-infections, STAgora empowers healthcare systems to deliver precise diagnoses and formulate effective responses, reinforcing global health security.”

Seegene is a global leader in molecular diagnostics, renowned for its multiplex PCR technologies that enable simultaneous detection of multiple pathogens in a single test. The company is committed to advancing precision diagnostics to support proactive disease management and safeguard public health.
