Samsung Electronics announced on the 26th that its Galaxy S25 series, launched this past February, surpassed 2 million units sold in South Korea as of the 24th—more than two weeks faster than its predecessor, the Galaxy S24.
Given that the Galaxy S25 series reached 1 million units sold a week earlier than the S24, the pace of sales is clearly accelerating. This marks the fastest time any Galaxy 5G smartphone has reached the 2 million sales milestone.
Samsung attributes the strong performance of the Galaxy S25 series to features such as personalized Galaxy AI, the most powerful performance to date, and enhanced camera capabilities, offering a differentiated user experience that has resonated with consumers.
According to buyer analysis, the most popular model is the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which features a 200-megapixel camera, top-tier performance, and the most significant design changes. Among color options, the blue variant—Samsung’s signature color—was the most preferred, followed by white and silver.
Additionally, the newly introduced “New Galaxy AI Subscription Club,” launched in January, received strong interest from younger customers, particularly those in their teens, twenties, and thirties, further contributing to the success of the Galaxy S25 series.
On May 23, Samsung completed its Galaxy S25 lineup with the launch of the ultra-slim Galaxy S25 Edge, joining the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25.
Jung Ho-jin, Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ Korea Business Division, stated, “Surpassing 2 million units sold domestically reflects how highly customers value the completeness and innovation of the Galaxy S25 series,” adding, “We will continue to expand benefits such as the New Galaxy AI Subscription to further enhance the customer experience.”
