CJ Logistics, South Korea’s largest logistics company with a growing presence in North America, is making rapid gains in the regional market—jumping 20 spots in the rankings over the past two years through bold investments and strategic growth.
Several media outlets reported on May 15 that CJ Logistics America ranked 52nd among top logistics companies in North America this year, up from 60th in 2023 and 72nd in 2022. The company was highlighted for its warehousing, distribution, and supply chain management capabilities, and its continued expansion across the U.S.
CJ Logistics launched its U.S. subsidiary CJ Logistics America in 2021 by merging DSC Logistics—a U.S. firm it acquired in 2018—with CJ Logistics USA. Since then, it has built a nationwide logistics network offering storage, transportation, and end-to-end supply chain services.
One of the company’s key focus areas is cold chain logistics. With major cold storage facilities in Gainesville, Georgia, and New Century, Kansas, CJ Logistics America is strengthening its ability to handle temperature-sensitive products such as fresh food and pharmaceuticals. It is also investing in AI-powered logistics technologies to boost operational efficiency and deliver customized solutions to clients across sectors including food, fashion, healthcare, and electronics.
These efforts have driven steady growth. In Q1 2024, CJ Logistics’ global division reported $816 million in revenue and $8.29 million in operating profit. Revenue rose 6.2% year over year, while profit held steady. Although global forwarding revenue declined amid trade uncertainties, robust performance in strategic markets like the U.S. and India supported top-line growth.
Industry analysts expect CJ’s continued investment and differentiated service offerings to fuel further gains in the North American market. In a statement, the company said it will “continue expanding its high-value cold chain logistics business to strengthen its market presence in North America.”
Amazon retained the No. 1 position in this year’s rankings, followed by C.H. Robinson Worldwide, GXO Logistics, J.B. Hunt Transport Services, and UPS Supply Chain Solutions.
