Lee Mi-kyeong (Miky Lee), Vice Chairman of CJ Group—a leading South Korean conglomerate with businesses in entertainment, food, and biotechnology—will take the stage at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts (SCA) commencement ceremony this week to deliver a keynote address. Her speech is expected to further strengthen CJ’s influence in the global cultural content industry.
According to the USC School of Cinematic Arts, Lee will speak at the graduation ceremony to be held on May 16 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
The USC School of Cinematic Arts explained its selection by stating, “Miky Lee is a pioneer in the global film industry who transcends borders, cultures, and genres.”
By joining the list of past USC commencement speakers—including Hollywood heavyweights like Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, and Jeffrey Katzenberg—Lee has once again demonstrated the rising stature of K-content on the world stage.
The university anticipates that Lee’s speech will go beyond a traditional address, instead offering meaningful insights into the leadership and vision required for the next generation of filmmakers in a rapidly evolving global content market. This recognition reflects her contributions to fostering creative journeys in the worldwide entertainment industry and breaking down cultural barriers to promote mutual understanding.
Lee has been actively promoting the excellence of Korean culture and advancing global cultural exchange through various international forums and events. Her USC commencement speech is expected to serve as a valuable guide for future leaders in the global film industry.
USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, established in 1929 in collaboration with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, is one of the world’s most prestigious media schools.
