A memorial concert honoring Hyundai founder Chung Ju-yung will reach a global audience on June 27 when CNN airs a special feature showcasing the performance and the craftsmanship behind it, highlighting the values of collaboration and innovation that shaped one of South Korea’s most influential business leaders.

Hyundai Motor Group said the program will feature “Asan Chung Ju-yung 25th Memorial Concert: Resonance Continues,” a performance held earlier this year to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the founder’s death.

The concert brought together four internationally recognized South Korean pianists—Kim Sun-wook, Sunwoo Yekwon, Seong-Jin Cho and Yunchan Lim—in a series of collaborative performances designed around the theme of shared artistic expression.

The program included duets on a single piano, performances for two pianos and a finale featuring four grand pianos, illustrating how distinct interpretations and musical styles can combine to create a unified performance. Hyundai said the concept reflected Chung’s longstanding emphasis on entrepreneurship, pioneering spirit and teamwork.

CNN’s Showtime series, which explores the stories behind major global events, will feature not only the concert itself but also rehearsals, production preparations and the work of technicians and artisans responsible for bringing the event to the stage.

The broadcast will also spotlight the craftsmanship behind Steinway grand pianos, including the yearlong process of assembling more than 12,000 individual components at the company’s factory in Astoria, Queens. Viewers will see the extensive preparation required to ensure that four concert grand pianos perform at their highest level.

Hyundai Motor Group said the international broadcast is expected to expand awareness of the concert’s message beyond South Korea and introduce global audiences to the values that continue to influence the company decades after its founder’s passing.

The company said the program serves as a reminder that collaboration, innovation and an uncompromising pursuit of excellence remain enduring elements of Chung’s legacy.
