Jennie, a member of BLACKPINK, the four-member South Korean K-pop group that has topped the Billboard 200 albums chart, has drawn attention after appearing alongside American music executive Carter Gregory at a Halloween party in Los Angeles.

A video shared on Gregory’s social media shows the singer smiling and leaning close to him as they enjoy drinks and pose for the camera. The footage has attracted interest partly because of Gregory’s connections to major American record labels and prominent Hollywood celebrities.

Gregory previously served as vice president of artists and repertoire at Capitol Records, where he worked with recording artists including Doechii and Fletcher. He has since established Plot Twist Records, which announced a joint venture with Atlantic Records and 10K Projects in October. Gregory is also a close friend of Kylie Jenner, the cosmetics entrepreneur and reality television personality.

The encounter brought Jennie into the spotlight beyond her music career, reflecting the growing overlap between K-pop performers and America’s entertainment industry. Although the video shows the two enjoying the party together, it offers no indication of a romantic relationship or a professional collaboration.

Jennie also drew attention with a costume inspired by the Hollywood action franchise Fast & Furious. She dressed as Suki, the street racer portrayed by Devon Aoki in the 2003 film 2 Fast 2 Furious, recreating the character’s distinctive outfit with a purple crop top and pink miniskirt.

The appearance follows the August release of Jennie’s solo EP Fallen Angel, which was distributed through Columbia Records, a label owned by Sony Music Entertainment. She continues to develop her solo career while remaining part of BLACKPINK, whose international success has helped establish South Korean pop music in the American mainstream.

Jennie and her three bandmates also recently became the first K-pop girl group to receive South Korea’s Jade Crown Order of Cultural Merit, a government honor recognizing contributions to the arts and culture. The recognition came as BLACKPINK marked its 10th anniversary, acknowledging the group’s achievements in bringing Korean popular music to international audiences.
