G-Dragon, a South Korean rapper and fashion designer, will release a craft beer through GS25, a convenience store chain in South Korea, next month.
GS25 announced the December 11 launch of Daisy Ale, developed with G-Dragon’s fashion brand Peaceminusone and Hitachino Nest, a Japanese craft brewery.
The beer takes its name and theme from the daisy flower, which G-Dragon uses as a personal symbol.
Hitachino Nest operates under Kiuchi Brewery, a 200-year-old sake producer in Japan’s Ibaraki Prefecture.
The brewery won the World Champion Beer title at Japan’s International Beer Cup.
The packaging features daisy graphics spreading across mint-colored cans. Hitachino Nest’s head brewer created the recipe using pilsner and carapils malts for a light body, with Citra hops for tropical fruit flavors and Amarillo hops for orange blossom notes. The beer contains 4.8% alcohol.
GS25 will take pre-orders from November 26 to 28 through its mobile app, limiting sales to 888 six-packs per day at $16 per pack.
Pop-up stores will operate December 4 to 9 at three GS25 locations in Cheongwagonggan, Busan Gwangjang, and DXLAB, offering tastings and limited products.
The beer will be available at GS25 and GS The Fresh stores across South Korea starting December 11. Single cans cost $3, or $8 for three cans.
