Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea’s largest automaker, has unveiled the Ioniq 6 N, a high-performance electric sedan that combines motorsport technology with everyday usability. Several media outlets say the model sets a new benchmark for electrified performance.
The Ioniq 6 N made its debut on July 10 at two events: a media showcase at the Hyundai N Archive in Uiwang, South Korea, and a global premiere at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed in the U.K., introducing the car to both domestic and international audiences.
The Ioniq 6 N combines data from Hyundai’s motorsport programs and cutting-edge electrification technology.
Designed to deliver both track-ready capability and daily driving comfort, the sedan embodies the brand’s three core performance philosophies: “Corner Rascal,” “Racetrack Capability,” and “Everyday Sports Car,” according to Hyundai.
Powered by an 84.0-kWh high-output battery and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, the Ioniq 6 N delivers up to 641 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque in “N Grin Boost” mode.
Hyundai claims it can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.2 seconds with the help of the “N Launch Control” feature.
The car features a large rear wing spoiler and aerodynamic enhancements to improve high-speed stability.
Next-generation suspension geometry and electronically controlled dampers provide agile yet composed handling.
“This model represents a milestone for N, showcasing the future of electric performance cars—lighter, more agile, and more fun to drive,” said Joo-won Kim, head of Hyundai’s N brand strategy, adding that the car reflects insights gained from WRC and ETCR motorsport programs.
The Ioniq 6 N also comes equipped with several features designed to enhance driver engagement, including N e-Shift, N Ambient Shift Lights, N Active Sound Plus, and N Drift Optimizer.
Hyundai expects the Ioniq 6 N to play a key role in its high-performance EV lineup going forward. Industry observers see the launch as a major step in expanding the company’s presence in the performance EV segment.
“This is more than just a high-performance EV,” said Cheol-min Lee, head of Hyundai’s domestic marketing.
“If the Ioniq 5 N set the benchmark as N’s first electric model in 2023, the Ioniq 6 N, as N’s first sedan, is poised to reshape the paradigm of the high-performance EV market.”
