Cathie Wood, widely regarded as an icon of innovative investing, has renewed her position in U.S. semiconductor giant Nvidia.
On April 8, ARK Invest—Wood’s ETF management firm—purchased 188,980 shares of Nvidia, valued at approximately $18.2 million based on the day’s closing price of $96.30.
The firm also acquired 151,979 shares on April 7, worth about $14.8 million. With Nvidia stock down more than 30% year-to-date, ARK appears to be buying the dip.
ARK Invest began offloading its Nvidia shares in November 2022 and fully exited the position by January 2023. While it reentered the stock later, the firm reportedly sold off its entire holding again in February 2024.
Wood, born in 1955, studied economics at the University of Southern California. She previously worked as an economist at Capital Group and spent 12 years as Chief Investment Officer at AllianceBernstein. In 2014, she founded ARK Invest.
