K-pop icon Daesung, a member of BIGBANG, is making his return to the music scene over a year after his last single. This marks his comeback following the recent album release by BIGBANG’s leader, G-Dragon.

His agency, D-LABEL, announced on Tuesday that Daesung will unveil his first mini-album, “D’s WAVE,” on April 8.

On Monday, Daesung previewed the upcoming release on his official social media channels, sharing a promotional image. According to his label, the teaser provides a glimpse into the album’s concept, featuring him in an all-black outfit surrounded by multiple stand microphones.

Daesung began his solo career in 2008 with the trot dance track “Look at Me, Gwisun,” followed by another trot release, “It’s a Big Hit!” in 2009. His most recent song, “Falling Slowly,” was released in March 2024, showcasing a more emotive vocal style.

In addition to his music career, Daesung has expanded his presence as a content creator. His YouTube channel (@ZIP_DS) has gained significant traction, surpassing 1.13 million subscribers in under a year. He was recently recognized at the 2025 Korea First Brand Awards, winning in the Male Celebrity YouTuber category.

Daesung has also reaffirmed his close ties with his BIGBANG bandmates, who are currently performing as a trio. The group made headlines with their performance at the 2024 MAMA Awards, showcasing their enduring friendship and timeless stage presence.

He also made a guest appearance at Taeyang’s encore concert last month, further fueling excitement for his own solo concert scheduled for April.
