This summer, demand has been further boosted by efforts to block direct sunlight and improve air-conditioning efficiency during extreme heat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other fabric-based cooling products also recorded strong growth. Searches for curtains designed for studio apartments tripled, rising 204% from a year earlier. Adhesive curtains that can be installed without drilling increased 133%, while valance curtains used to cover the upper section of windows rose 90%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Searches for door curtains jumped 257%, or 3.6 times higher than a year earlier, as consumers sought ways to prevent cooled air from escaping. The trend reflects growing interest in dividing indoor spaces and using targeted &#8220;zoned cooling&#8221; strategies rather than cooling an entire home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Humidity-control products also saw increased demand. Searches for dehumidifiers rose 160% from the previous four-week period, while searches for moisture absorbers increased 105%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Consumers increasingly searched for products designed for specific spaces, including mini dehumidifiers, bathroom dehumidifiers, studio apartment dehumidifiers and hanging moisture absorbers. Several of these categories recorded increases of more than 100%, suggesting households are becoming more selective about managing humidity in different areas of the home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Demand also increased for portable air conditioners, with searches rising 149% from the previous four-week period. Ohouse said these products are gaining attention among renters and residents of smaller homes because they can be moved between rooms without requiring installation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The trend reflects growing concerns over summer electricity bills. South Korea&#8217;s state-run utility company has recommended using curtains and blinds to block direct sunlight as an effective way to improve cooling performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By controlling heat entering through windows and reducing cooled air loss through doors, consumers are increasingly adopting fabric-based barriers and humidity-control products as part of a broader strategy to maintain comfortable indoor environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Consumers are moving beyond simply buying cooling devices and are directly managing the causes of summer discomfort, including humidity and intense sunlight,&#8221; an Ohouse official said. &#8220;Using dehumidification and sunlight-blocking solutions to maximize cooling efficiency, rather than depending only on air conditioners, has become a defining summer lifestyle trend.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
