BTS, a seven-member act that has helped propel K-pop into the global mainstream, is set to open a new world tour this week, highlighting the genre’s expanding reach across major music markets including the United States and Europe.
The tour, titled ARIRANG, will begin with three shows in Goyang, South Korea, before moving through 34 cities with a total of 85 performances spanning Japan, the U.S., Germany, France, Canada, Peru, Chile and Thailand.
Demand has already underscored the group’s global draw. A total of 46 shows—including dates in Goyang, Tokyo and across North America and Europe—have sold out in advance, according to promoter Live Nation.
The performances are set to take place in stadiums and large dome venues, supported by a 360-degree stage designed to maximize capacity. The scale places BTS within the top tier of global touring acts and reflects how K-pop concerts have evolved from arena events into full-scale stadium productions.
The tour will feature songs from BTS’s latest album ARIRANG, which recently topped the Billboard 200 for two consecutive weeks, alongside a catalog of previous hits.
The strong pre-sale demand and large-scale venues point to a broader shift in the global music landscape, where K-pop is no longer confined to regional audiences. Instead, acts like BTS are drawing sustained, stadium-level crowds across continents, signaling how South Korea’s pop industry has established a durable presence in markets long dominated by Western artists.
