K-pop group BTS previewed a cinematic homage to director Park Chan-wook’s film “Oldboy” in a teaser for their upcoming music video “2.0,” signaling a bold visual direction for their latest release.
The teaser, released on HYBE Labels’ official YouTube channel, features a gritty corridor and elevator setting reminiscent of the film’s iconic hallway fight scene. The clip opens on a chaotic hallway filled with men before an elevator arrives on the second floor and its doors open to reveal the group’s members. RM, wearing a wig and sunglasses, stands out in the brief sequence.
The full video is expected to be released at a later date.
“2.0,” a track from BTS’s fifth studio album “ARIRANG,” reflects the group’s evolution as they enter a new phase of their career, blending themes of transformation and growth with a fresh sound.
The song debuted at No. 50 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart dated April 4.
The album and its lead single “Swim” have also seen strong commercial performance, topping both the Billboard 200 albums chart and the Hot 100 singles chart.
Of the album’s 14 tracks, 13 entered the Hot 100. The only exception, “No.29,” incorporates the sound of the historic Korean bell known as the Seongdeok Daewang Divine Bell.
The release underscores BTS’s continued global influence, combining cinematic storytelling with sustained chart success.
