Hyundai Motor has officially opened access to Tesla’s Supercharger network for its electric vehicles in the U.S., a significant step following its October 2023 announcement to adopt Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS). Starting March 25, eligible Hyundai and Genesis EV owners can use Tesla Superchargers with a complimentary NACS adapter.

Compatible models include the Hyundai Kona Electric, IONIQ Electric, IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, Genesis GV60, GV70 Electrified, and GV80 Electrified. Customers who purchased these vehicles before January 31, 2025, can request a free adapter through Hyundai’s MyHyundai app, with shipping included.

Future Hyundai EVs, such as the 2025 IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 9, will feature built-in J3400 (NACS) ports, eliminating the need for adapters. The J3400 standard allows direct charging at Tesla Superchargers without relying on Tesla’s Magic Dock adapter, currently required for CCS-equipped vehicles.

This integration expands charging options for Hyundai and Genesis drivers, leveraging Tesla’s extensive and reliable Supercharger network. The move reflects the auto industry’s broader shift toward NACS, with major manufacturers like Ford, GM, and Rivian also adopting the standard to simplify EV charging in North America.

By joining Tesla’s charging ecosystem, Hyundai enhances convenience for its EV owners while reinforcing the Supercharger network’s role as a key pillar of U.S. EV infrastructure.
