HD Hyundai Infracore is exploring deeper cooperation with Turkish generator manufacturer Teksan as part of its strategy to expand its presence in the European market. The two companies are discussing ways to enhance sales competitiveness and strengthen their market position by closely analyzing local demand in Turkey and across Europe.

According to LinkedIn and industry sources on March 24, Im Hyung-taek, Executive Vice President of HD Hyundai Infracore’s Engine Sales Division, recently visited Teksan’s headquarters in Istanbul. During his visit, he met with Emre Onart, the head of supply chain management at Teksan, to explore potential areas for collaboration.

Teksan manufactures a wide range of generators powered by diesel, natural gas, and biogas. The company exports to approximately 140 countries and is recognized as one of Turkey’s top 1,000 exporters. Teksan is also a key customer of HD Hyundai Infracore’s engines.

During his trip, Im also met with other local clients in Turkey to promote the performance and reliability of HD Hyundai Infracore’s engines. Since generators produced by Turkish manufacturers are exported to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, the company expects that strengthening partnerships in Turkey will enhance brand awareness in these regions.

In addition to Teksan, HD Hyundai Infracore counts other major Turkish companies, such as AKSA, KJ Power, and Alimar, among its clients. At the Middle East Electricity Exhibition (MEE) held in Dubai in March 2022, the company signed engine supply agreements for over 2,400 generator units with KJ Power and Alimar. In February 2023, it also secured a $2.13 million deal to supply 1,500-horsepower tank engines to Turkish defense company BMC, further solidifying its presence in the Turkish market.

The engine business accounts for about 28% of HD Hyundai Infracore’s total revenue. The company has steadily increased its R&D investments in this area, spending approximately 214 million in 2022, 2.75 million in 2023, and planning to invest 7.49 million in 2024. This year, it aims to invest 58.86 million, including facility upgrades, and 95.86 million by 2026. Additionally, the company is expanding its Gunsan factory with a 79.43 million project announced in December 2023.

Once mass production begins in the first half of next year, HD Hyundai Infracore aims to enhance its competitiveness in both quality and production capacity to accelerate global growth.
