CJ Foodville’s Tous Les Jours is speeding up its expansion in North America, with its Georgia factory set to be completed within the year. CJ Foodville plans to use this U.S. production base as a hub to achieve its vision of “1,000 Tous Les Jours stores in North America by 2030.” The company aims to establish itself as a global bakery brand beloved worldwide, leveraging the unique competitive edge of K-bakery.
According to CJ Foodville on the 6th, the Tous Les Jours factory in Georgia will begin full-scale operations in the fourth quarter of this year. This marks the first entry by a South Korean food company into the U.S. Southeast region of Georgia. The company is investing over $35 million to build a manufacturing facility on a 22-acre site in Gainesville, Hall County.
Initially, CJ Foodville considered multiple locations, including Texas, for the factory. However, Georgia was ultimately chosen due to its pro-business environment and the state government’s active efforts to attract the investment, including a direct visit by a state official to CJ Foodville’s headquarters.
Georgia is highly regarded for its excellent market accessibility across the U.S. and its business-friendly ecosystem, home to over 330 global manufacturing and food companies in its industrial clusters. Through this factory, CJ Foodville will also create around 300 new local jobs in Georgia.
Once operational, the Georgia factory will enable CJ Foodville to produce an annual capacity of 100 million items, including frozen dough and cakes.
Since launching Tous Les Jours in the U.S. in 2004, CJ Foodville has expanded its operations to 27 states, including New York and New Jersey. As of last month, the company operates 154 Tous Les Jours stores in the U.S. With the increased production capacity from the Georgia factory, Tous Les Jours plans to strengthen its multi-product strategy, offering around 400 bakery items, and solidify its position as a leading K-bakery company in North America.
A CJ Foodville representative stated, “With the Georgia factory nearing completion, we will use it as a key production base to ensure a stable and efficient supply of goods to the growing number of Tous Les Jours locations in North America. We plan to accelerate our local business expansion with the goal of reaching 1,000 stores in North America by 2030.”
