Alaska Air Group is set to launch a new air route connecting Incheon, South Korea, and Seattle, USA, starting this September. As part of its efforts to expand its global network, the airline is increasing direct international flights, including a new route to Tokyo, Japan, with Seattle Tacoma International Airport serving as a key hub in the western United States.
According to Alaska Air Group on the 29th, the airline will begin operating the Incheon International Airport ICN to Seattle Tacoma International Airport SEA route from September 12. The route will be served five times a week using Airbus A330 200 aircraft.
The flight schedule is as follows: Departing from Incheon Airport at 8:50 PM on Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, arriving at Seattle Airport at 1:00 PM on the same day. The return flight departs from Seattle Airport at 3:25 PM on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, arriving at Incheon Airport at 6:50 PM the following day.
Alaska Air Group began accepting flight reservations on its Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines websites starting March 25. Given that the route launches just ten days before the Chuseok holiday, high demand for tickets is expected.
The airline also plans to add at least 12 new direct international flights by 2030, using Seattle as its hub. This includes routes to Incheon and Tokyo Narita. Additionally, starting May 13, Alaska Air Group will operate a daily direct flight between Seattle and Tokyo.
Andrew Harrison, Chief Commercial Officer CCO of Alaska Air Group, stated:
By operating direct flights connecting Seattle to Seoul and Tokyo, we plan to further enhance access to destinations across Asia. Moving forward, we will continue expanding our international routes from Seattle and add major destinations that travelers prefer.
