South Korea’s SPC Group is experiencing notable growth with its Paris Baguette franchise operations in Canada, accelerating its expansion into the North American market. Since entering Canada in 2023, the brand has rapidly increased its store count and received positive responses from local consumers and franchise investors. Currently operating 13 locations, Paris Baguette is on course to open 30 stores by the end of this year.

Nick Scaccio, Chief Development Officer (CDO) of Paris Baguette North America, appeared on the Late Night Restaurant Show podcast on June 4 (local time), stating, “We are in the process of developing 30 additional locations in Canada, and our franchise operations are progressing very smoothly.”

Scaccio emphasized the strengths of the franchise model, including consistent operations and a structured training system. “Franchisees undergo a four-week intensive hands-on training program to learn the brand’s culture and to deliver consistent quality,” he noted.

Paris Baguette’s training system and brand philosophy have attracted strong interest from experienced franchise operators. Abid Khan, who operates six Tim Hortons locations in Ontario, signed a franchise agreement with Paris Baguette this past March and plans to open four stores in the Toronto area. “I was impressed by Paris Baguette’s flavors and store atmosphere and personally proposed a franchise agreement,” Khan said. “I believe the brand has strong potential to succeed in the Canadian market.”

Paris Baguette opened its first Canadian store in Toronto in March 2023. Since then, it has quickly expanded into cities such as Edmonton and Vancouver, with a goal of operating 100 stores across Canada by 2030.

The involvement of seasoned foodservice professionals in the Paris Baguette franchise is seen as a testament to the brand’s growing competitiveness in the local market. In the U.S., the brand has also signed franchise agreements with operators of major global brands like Gong Cha and McDonald’s, further validating its franchise strength in the North American market.

A company spokesperson stated, “The fact that experienced franchisees are choosing Paris Baguette is a clear indicator of our brand’s strength,” adding, “We will continue to accelerate our expansion throughout North America.”

With over 4,000 locations worldwide, Paris Baguette aims to promote high-quality baked goods and café culture across North America as part of its long-term growth strategy.
